An ongoing material practice
Pessoa is an ongoing material practice. Objects are created from reclaimed layers of graffiti paint, metal, and other urban surfaces. The materials are sanded, reshaped, and revealed rather than polished away. Every layer is a record of time. No two pieces are identical because no wall is identical.

Material
Excavation, not decoration
Most Pessoa objects begin as compressed layers of discarded graffiti paint. These layers are cut, shaped, and sanded to expose the internal topography of the material. The result resembles demascus steel — but instead of metal alloys, the pattern is made from years of accumulated paint. Every color band is a moment from the life of a wall.

Objects with identity
Pessoa means "person." The project is built around the idea that objects carry identity in the same way people do. Wear, damage, and imperfection are not flaws. They are evidence of experience. Pessoa objects are designed to reveal that history.
Archive
Beyond objects
Pessoa is expanding beyond objects. Future plans include exhibitions, artist collaborations, and the development of a permanent archive focused on graffiti history and urban material culture. The long-term vision is the Pessoa Institute — a space dedicated to preserving black books, artifacts, interviews, and works from artists who shaped the visual language of the city.
